About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Linguistic Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Universally Speaking Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance in our video games.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough linguistic quality assurance checks on in-game text to ensure accuracy, correctness, and cultural relevance.
  • Develop and execute test cases to identify and report linguistic bugs and errors.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure that linguistic quality assurance is integrated into the project life cycle.
  • Participate in test requirement gathering to ensure that all features of the project are thoroughly tested.
  • Continuously improve and refine linguistic quality assurance processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Expert-level proficiency in German language and culture.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Passion for video games and gaming industry.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive, tenacious, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database handling.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous experience in linguistic quality assurance, translation, or proofreading.
  • Working knowledge of CAT tools (MemoQ).
  • Knowledge of video game industry trends and developments.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in linguistics.
