Health and Safety Manager Job Description

Vickerstock is partnering with a leading supplier of construction materials to find a skilled Health and Safety Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage the health and safety budget.
  • Oversee and improve the health and safety program to ensure legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with site teams to ensure statutory inspections and machinery safety.
  • Manage emergency procedures and fire safety in line with policies and risk assessments.
  • Report RIDDOR incidents to HSE and manage related correspondence.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation and company accreditations.
  • Support business units by promoting health and safety best practices.
  • Organize and lead H&S meetings and present monthly performance reports to senior management.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years' experience in a health and safety role.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH).
  • Experience in implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in conducting health and safety investigations.
  • Experience in managing and implementing health and safety management systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in building relationships with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NEBOSH Fire Safety certification.
  • ISO Lead Auditor Training.
