Job Description

Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor

Location: Birmingham, Coventry/Warwick

Salary: Up to £52,000 – Birmingham, Up to £45,000 Warwick/Coventry

The HSE Recruitment Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our clients' employees and contractors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional health and safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams.
  • Advise on project compliance with health and safety management systems and statutory provisions.
  • Maintain the health and safety competence matrix.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions and briefings to construction teams.
  • Monitor onboarding processes.
  • Produce, review, and implement construction phase plans.
  • Review risk assessments and method statements.
  • Support accident and incident investigations and communicate findings.
  • Monitor project activities, trade contractors, designers, suppliers, and assist the procurement team.
  • Conduct assurance inspections on site.
  • Liaise with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, clients, enforcement agencies, and other relevant parties.
  • Assist in the development, review, and update of health and safety management systems.
  • Support business development by completing PQQs and tender enquiries.
  • Contribute to the development of an injury-free environment.

Essential Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction project or facilities health and safety.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Construction activities – minimum).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (Facilities activities – minimum).
  • Experience of working on construction sites (earthwork, pilling, foundation, civil work, viaduct, land contamination, asbestos removal, batching plant, lifting operations, and MEWPS).

Ideal Personality Traits:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with gravitas and ability to influence and lead.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Passionate about health and safety.
