As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in providing quantity surveying services within our Commercial department, ensuring commercial procedures are followed to maximize project success.
You will work closely with the project team to manage commercial risks and opportunities, and ensure accurate reporting and procurement processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project subcontract procurement processes to maximize buying opportunities and achieve best value.
- Preparing value engineering schedules to identify opportunities for cost savings and best value.
- Overseeing subcontract account management, including monthly valuations, variation agreements, and final account statements.
- Preparing and reviewing project risk and opportunity schedules, and identifying potential project risks and opportunities.
- Producing project Cost Value Reconciliation reports and cashflow forecasts.
- Administering subcontractor vetting, including SMAS approval, credit checks, and insurance verification.
- Contract administration of affordable housing contracts.
- Carrying out regular site visits to review subcontract valuations and project progress.
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a track record of successfully managing mixed tenure housing development projects, and a strong understanding of construction processes and technologies.
Key requirements include:
- Degree-level Quantity Surveying qualification or similar.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Coins and MS Office.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, programmes, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of commonly used standard forms of contract, such as JCT and affordable housing agreements.
- Full UK driving license.
