Job Title: Production Testing Specialist
Location: Rochester (Kent)
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of testing methodologies
- Servicing and upkeep of testing apparatus
- Mentoring and guiding testing personnel
- Creation of testing protocols for equipment including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Boundary Scan, Roving Probe, X-Ray, and Functional Testing
- Preparation of supporting documentation
- Providing technical assistance to both development and production initiatives
- Conducting assessments for test design
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Proficiency in both analog and digital circuitry
- Adeptness in interpreting circuit schematics and troubleshooting down to component level
- Understanding of contemporary Manufacturing Engineering practices, tools, and technologies acquired through experience in a production setting
- Proven track record in applying Lean manufacturing principles for process enhancement, cost reduction, or waste minimization
Desirable:
- Formal electronics qualification or apprenticeship
- Familiarity with AOI, Roving Probe, Boundary Scan, and Functional Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
- Lean Six Sigma experience, with green or black belt certification
- Experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies and Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, PDCA, FMEA, fishbone diagrams, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
