Accountant (Senior Level)

Hutcheon Mearns is a leading accounting firm in Arbroath, Angus, seeking a highly skilled Accountant (Manager Level) to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of clients, interacting with client and accounts teams, and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns.
The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied portfolio of clients, including reviewing annual accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns
- Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Hold regular client meetings to discuss financial performance and provide guidance
- Oversee staff workloads and provide training and development opportunities
- Collaborate with the Client Managers to manage the firm's workload and contribute to operational decisions
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior accounting role, managing a team within a practice environment. They will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent communication skills, and a determination to meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will also have a strong analytical and problem-solving skill set, with a keen eye for detail.
