Position Overview

Due to ongoing demand and our strategic growth objectives, Turner & Townsend is seeking to hire Estimators and Senior Estimators with a solid background in the Infrastructure sector, including Rail, Highways, Power, Marine, Water, or Utilities.


Regional Opportunities

The Midlands area is set to support a variety of significant programs and project portfolios in the coming years. Estimating roles are available across our offices in Birmingham and Nottingham.


Role Responsibilities

As an Estimator at Turner & Townsend, you will play a crucial role in delivering value to our clients by acting as an integrated resource within their teams or providing specialized support for various clients across the Infrastructure sector through our Estimating Hub. While our primary focus is on regional clients, our Estimators may also have the flexibility to work remotely on estimating assignments for clients on a national and international scale.


Key Deliverables

Our team is responsible for producing a diverse range of Estimating and Commercial Intelligence outputs that assist clients in their decision-making processes, including:

  • Comprehensive Estimate Production (from preliminary estimates to detailed calculations based on first principles);
  • Estimating Assurance;
  • Support for Major Programme Setup;
  • Data Analysis and Benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities

As an Estimator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating precise and thorough estimates and cost plans for projects efficiently;
  • Managing and overseeing the estimating process at the project level;
  • Producing estimates independently;
  • Assisting in the collection and dissemination of estimating data;
  • Promoting and developing best practices in estimating within Turner & Townsend;
  • Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals;
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in your area of expertise to provide best practice guidance aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience;
  • Proven experience in providing estimating and/or Quantity Surveying services in a large project context;
  • Experience with estimating software tools;
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization with chartered status or actively pursuing it;
  • Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
