The Head of Financial Operations and Systems is responsible for managing the Financial Operations and Systems team and serving as the primary point of contact for Finance to interpret and, where necessary, prioritize changes that may impact Finance processes, systems, or data. This role feeds into Finance requirements or resource impact as part of these changes and is the business sponsor for the Financial Systems workstream under the Finance Transformation Program (FTP). Additionally, this role feeds into other workstreams where appropriate and has a systems or data impact.
This role will work closely with the Finance Leadership Team and senior business partners to ensure smooth operational support of existing processes and advocate for/enable Financial Systems and Data change deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy and Planning: Drives business performance through others by facilitating effective planning, control, and support mechanisms to ensure delivery of the business plan in line with market and shareholder expectations.
- Policy, Process, and Procedures: Manages team capacity to ensure it is cost-effective and matched to the current and future agreed needs of Finance. Develops and implements an appropriate governance framework to ensure best practice and compliance with internal and external regulations for Systems and Data responsibilities.
- Technical Performance: Leads the development of Systems and Data solutions that enhance delivery of services aligned with industry and regulatory requirements. Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives by assessing alignment of current processes and systems to business requirements and recognizing opportunities for standardization, increased efficiency, cost reduction, and increased quality.
- Business and Financial Awareness: Demonstrates business and financial awareness of the impact of Service Levels and any associated failures.
- Entrepreneurial and Creative Approach: Develops new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organization and push the boundaries.
- Finance Management: Includes budget management, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience of Financial accounting, reporting, and operations in an Insurer/Reinsurer.
- Project management/co-ordination, including managing multiple projects and complex projects to quality, time, and budget.
