Job Summary

This role is part of the Global Markets Claims Group at Allied World, a global provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions. As a Senior Claims Analyst - Commercial Combined, you will be responsible for handling Property and Casualty claims (Commercial Combined) within a strong and renowned claims team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day handling of the UK Commercial claims team's commercial combined book in compliance with claims manuals and KPIs.
  • Investigate and authorise claim payments within specified authority.
  • Review incoming claim correspondence, formulate responses, and create workflows.
  • Maintain a claims diary and investigate liability, quantum, and coverage.
  • Adhere to internal procedures, including declinatures, large losses, complaints, and fraud.
  • Draft and amend declinatures before referring them to the Head of UKC and/or European Head of Claims for approval.
  • Assess, reserve, and negotiate the settling of claims within authority levels.
  • Instruct and manage loss adjusters and experts, as needed.
  • Review loss adjuster and expert reports in detail.
  • Seek management approval for reserves beyond authority.
  • Explore and make subrogated recoveries with the assistance of loss adjusters/lawyers.
  • Conduct site visits and manage claims that fall outside any delegated authority.
  • Attend and present during claims and underwriter meetings.
  • Report to the Head of UKC claims and other management throughout.
  • Assist with coordination of and carrying out of internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with underwriters regarding general claims queries.
  • Manage recoveries within authority.
  • Attend meetings with Insureds, brokers, lawyers, loss adjusters, and other stakeholders.
  • Produce and analyse claims reports.
  • Represent the claims team at market meetings, settlement meetings, mediations, and marketing events.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Participate in annual claims presentation.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience handling Property and/or Casualty claims, including large and complex losses.
  • Experience dealing with coverage issues.
  • Good understanding of Property and Casualty policy wordings.
  • Experience of managing bordereau and monitoring files on binder business.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
