Job Title: Freight Forwarder

We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our team at Rapier. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating shipments, managing existing client relationships, and exploring new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate shipments both in the UK and EU
  • Manage existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities
  • Invoice and price shipments
  • Process customs entries for overseas shipments
  • Quote, cost, book, and ship freight
  • Track shipments from collection to delivery
  • Find solutions to customer requirements
  • Respond to internal and external emails
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including sub-contract hauliers and other transport providers
Requirements:
  • Experience in the freight forwarding industry (or similar)
  • 2 years transport industry experience (preferred) - ideally in road transport
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative approach with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the import and export of goods
  • Knowledge of customs requirements, processes, and procedures
  • Operational and sales (business development) experience is an advantage
  • Groupage experience is desirable
