Senior Associate - Corporate

We are seeking a highly motivated corporate lawyer to join our thriving corporate team in Cardiff or London.

The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience working on corporate transactions, with a strong understanding of the importance of client relationships and the ability to create or strengthen client relationships.

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in building and maintaining client relationships, supervising and supporting the development of junior lawyers, and working effectively under pressure to tackle tough decisions and present innovative ways to help clients.

Our corporate team provides a full-service offering, including transactional experience across M&A and Private Equity. We have a large team, comprising 14 qualified lawyers, supported by trainees and paralegals, and are consistently towards the top of Experian's Welsh deal list, ranked tier 1 in the Legal 500.

We are looking for a highly motivated corporate lawyer with recent and relevant experience working on corporate transactions. You will be a strong team player and comfortable working on complex and varied deals.

You will need to have:

  • 5+ years post-qualification experience
  • extensive experience of a full range of corporate work
  • to understand the importance of client relationships and have experience of creating, or strengthening, client relationships
  • to be technically competent and commercially aware
  • excellent written and oral communication skills, clear written presentation, strong organisational skills, good time management, good initiative, and problem-solving ability
  • to be team-focused with a flexible and collaborative approach to working with others, but also able to work alone
  • a strong client-focused approach with plenty of drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide an excellent client service
  • to travel regularly to London and Cardiff to visit clients and colleagues

You will be able to:

  • play a key role in building and maintaining client relationships
  • supervise and support the development of junior lawyers
  • work effectively under pressure to tackle tough decisions and present innovative ways to help clients
  • adhere to internal procedures and systems of Capital including file / case management, time recording, WIP management
  • keep up to date with law and practice as part of continuing professional development (CPD)
  • maintain high standards of professional conduct while generating required practice income
