Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of operational implementation of national EPRR policies and the development of long-term business plans for EPRR. They will provide support and advice to the ICB and providers of NHS-funded care as required, ensuring the NHS is prepared for major incidents, emergencies, disruptive events, and surges in demand.
Main Responsibilities- Work closely with the Head of EPRR to ensure that the AEO is continually informed and that all statutory, regulatory, and operational EPRR responsibilities are undertaken.
- Support the development and coordination of all aspects of EPRR for the ICB.
- Support system-wide planning for critical and major incidents, aligned with the ICB being a category 1 responder alongside NHSE.
- Support the effective management of the LHRP, engaging with partner organizations and LHRP members, ensuring that LHRP activity is coordinated across the system.
- Take a lead role in the planning and response to new and emerging threats that might pose a risk to the organization, supporting the ICB operational coordination of the immediate response in the event of an incident.
- Lead on the development and implementation of EPRR plans, processes, and procedures to ensure that the ICB can provide an appropriate response in the event of an emergency or incident.
- Maintain a consultation record of all input supplied by partners in the development/updating of new plans and policies in line with NHSE requirements.
The NHS Coventry & Warwickshire Integrated Care Board is a statutory body responsible for the NHS in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. We are committed to delivering high-quality healthcare services to our patients and communities.
Requirements- Must be able to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups.
- Able to represent the ICB in relation to EPRR at a local or regional level.
- Able to assimilate complex information and present across a wide range of stakeholders, including at times in highly pressurized environments.
- Able to communicate confidently internally and externally to the wider NHS and partner organizations.
- Hold a professional qualification in EPRR or a related field of work, such as Emergency Planning/Disaster Management/Business Continuity Management.
- Have experience in the application of the EPRR framework and applying this in the context of health category 1 responders.
- Detailed understanding of the ICB, system, provider collaborative, providers, and Place arrangements.
- Have an appreciation of the relationship between LRF, OHID, NHSE, UKHSA.
- Experience of delivering against competing priorities and deadlines while also directing the work of teams/individuals.
- Experience of budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
