Job Summary:

The post holder is responsible for ensuring the pharmacy meets the requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) registration and provides appropriate professional oversight on a daily basis. The post holder is accountable for training and developing junior pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists in the dispensary. The post holder will be involved in supporting GDP in pharmacy stores and providing a clinical service to wards as required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure GPhC registration requirements are met
  • Responsible pharmacist for the dispensary
  • Provide professional advice and support to staff
  • Develop an over-the-counter (OTC) sales service
  • Provide a basic clinical service to wards
  • Plan and organize workload

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience
  • Registered member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Masters degree in pharmacy

Management Experience:

  • Previous line management experience (Desirable)

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy
