Postdoctoral Researcher in Bayesian Modelling

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at The International Society for Bayesian Analysis. The successful candidate will work on a NERC-funded project focused on developing an integrated statistical framework for DNA-based surveys of biodiversity.
The project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers from the University of Kent, University of Lancaster, University College London, and the University of East Anglia. The successful candidate will work closely with the project leaders to develop and implement novel statistical methods for analyzing eDNA data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong research background in applied Bayesian modelling, as well as experience in implementing computational methods. They will be responsible for developing and testing new statistical models, analyzing data, and contributing to the project's scientific output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement novel statistical methods for eDNA data analysis
- Analyze and interpret large datasets
- Contribute to the project's scientific output through publications and presentations
- Collaborate with project leaders and other researchers to achieve project goals
Requirements:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g. statistics, ecology, biology)
- Strong research background in applied Bayesian modelling
- Experience in implementing computational methods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
