Position Title: Lead Battery Management Systems Controls Engineer

Role Overview:

In the capacity of a Lead Engineer specializing in Battery Management Systems (BMS) Controls, you will play a pivotal role in crafting control algorithms and the software framework for our Intelligent Software Layer tailored for automotive and mobility solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass engaging in requirement definition and evaluations, developing application software, and orchestrating test planning (including MIL, SIL, HIL, and DVP) while adhering to the V-Cycle methodology to ensure comprehensive product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop intricate and pioneering control functionalities with a focus on serial production.
  • Engage in clean sheet designs that involve system and software architecture along with requirement analysis.
  • Coordinate software development and testing processes in alignment with the V-cycle.
  • Participate in prototyping and testing initiatives.
  • Oversee documentation management and software release processes.
  • Assist in industrialization efforts, including DV&PV test planning and End-of-Line specifications as necessary.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in battery management controls and software development within the automotive sector, including physics-based battery modeling for estimation and control.
  • A solid foundation in Control Systems, encompassing system identification, estimation theory including Kalman Filters, and model predictive control methodologies.
  • Proficient in the Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow toolchain.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in automotive software development practices (e.g., V-cycle, MISRA C/C++, AUTOSAR).
  • Familiarity with ISO26262 Functional Safety and ASPICE processes.
  • A strong grasp of electric vehicle technologies, components, particularly battery management systems, sensors, and actuators.
