**Job Summary**

Principal People Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Manager to join a leading facilities management organization on a high-profile government contract.

This role will require frequent travel across the Midlands and North UK, with occasional overnight stays.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental and sustainability initiatives across a multisite portfolio, including:

  • Conducting operational and strategic site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Preparing for accreditation audits to maintain the organization's high standards.
  • Managing responsibilities across multiple sites, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability action plans to reduce the organization's environmental impact.
  • Liaising with site and regional management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Overseeing waste management and pollution control initiatives to minimize the organization's environmental footprint.
  • Promoting biodiversity improvement and other related duties to enhance the organization's sustainability performance.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • IEMA membership or an environmental-based degree or equivalent.
  • Experience working in facilities management, construction, maintenance, or hard services, or transferable sectors.
  • Ability to work in both operational and strategic roles and willingness to travel frequently across the Midlands and North UK with occasional overnight stays.
  • Willingness to undertake and pass a security check.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
