We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Graduate Sales Manager to join our sales team at Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing a portfolio of accounts and achieving allocated sales targets.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Strategy Development
- Identify new sales opportunities through product or market diversification in line with our sales and marketing strategy.
- Work with the sales manager to maintain regular contact with customers, quantify new sales potential, and ensure optimum exploitation of potential leads.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Establish a strong network of external relationships and liaise with representatives and overseas agents on sales visits.
- Maintain a regular contact schedule to proactively account manage existing clients, build on existing business, and ensure SFEL inclusion in the tender process.
- Product Representation
- Represent the full technical and product capability of Sheffield Forgemasters to customers.
- Proactively pursue profitable opportunities to expand the product offering to existing customers.
- Lead Generation and Follow-up
- Follow up all enquiries and leads, liaising internally and taking a proactive interest in technical issues and new developments.
- Travel and Representation
- Spend up to 50% of time travelling to promote products through client visits to existing and new customers.
- Relationship Building
- Develop long-term sustainable relationships at all levels with demanding clients based on excellent service and support.
- Market Intelligence
- Understand markets and competitors to give guidance on pricing strategy.
- Sales Support
- Support customer negotiations to close sales deals in line with customer requirements and business objectives.
- Provide regular feedback to the Head of Sales regarding sales prospects, competitor activity, and market conditions.
- Marketing Support
- Support marketing as required by attending tradeshows, conferences, and other marketing events.
- Technical Presentations
- Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product will meet client needs, involving in-house technical experts as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Education
- Minimum 2:2 bachelor's degree level in Engineering, Metallurgy, Business, or a complimentary discipline.
- Skills

- Team player able to integrate with colleagues across the business.

- Willing to travel extensively worldwide.
