About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Dennison Commercials Ltd. As a leading provider of heavy commercial vehicles in Northern Ireland, we require a professional who can work on electrics, carry out strips and rebuilds, and ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of jobs from general servicing to fault finding, working on complex electrical systems and performing thorough repairs
  • Ensuring all repairs are carried out in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines
  • Collaborating with the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted to vehicles
  • Assisting in the fault diagnosis process and providing solutions to complex problems
  • Complying with warranty procedures during repairs and ensuring warranty material is used on completion of a repair
  • Participating in roadside breakdowns and assisting with vehicle recovery
  • Ensuring all vehicle defects are reported to the Workshop Supervisor
  • Completing service sheets accurately and adhering to company time recording processes
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment, ensuring all facilities, equipment, and tools are kept in good condition
  • Supporting the development of apprentices and trainees when required

Requirements:

  • A flexible and positive attitude to the job, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues and customers in a professional manner
  • Self-motivation, proactivity, and flexibility with regards to working hours
