Management Accountant Assistant

At SF Recruitment (Nottingham), we are seeking an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join our client's team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a view to permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the finance team with month-end responsibilities, including preparing draft monthly management accounts packs and explaining variances to budget and prior year.
- Collaborate closely with the finance department to perform daily accounting functions, including managing the balance sheet reconciliation process and ensuring timely and accurate reports.
- Work alongside the operations team to conduct stock assessments and audits, including weekly stock takes and monthly/quarterly stock audits.
- Produce monthly departmental expenditure reports for department heads and weekly steel reporting and reconciliation.
- Support the finance team in all matters relating to the preparation, provision, and resolution of queries relating to the audit of the company's financial records.
- Part-qualified with experience in monthly budget variance analysis and strong Excel skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying levels and build strong relationships with the operations team.
- Confidence in stock audits, spot checks, and financial reporting.
- Availability for travel and overnight stays during the first month of the contract to complete full training and handover.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with 4 days in the office and 1 day at home. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
