Position: Test and Inspection Electrician

We are seeking a Test and Inspection Electrician to join a reputable Mechanical and Electrical Services Company operating throughout Hampshire.

This is a full-time position with 37 hours per week. A company vehicle, fuel card, personal protective equipment (PPE), and testing tools will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct periodic inspections and testing of electrical wiring systems and other compliance-related tasks, adhering to customer specifications and project guidelines while ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Perform electrical inspections and tests, as well as maintenance work, independently and efficiently, in accordance with the latest BS: 7671 standards, Construction Industry Safety Regulations, and company policies.
  • Comply with the Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002, ensuring adherence to relevant British Standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Engage with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers as necessary.
  • Interpret project drawings and specifications, assess project requirements, ensure compliance, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Commission and test electrical systems and equipment, providing necessary certification; assist project managers in demonstrating new equipment to stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Take responsibility for the successful completion of tasks and, when required, supervise other team members in line with company procedures and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in commercial and industrial electrical installation work.
  • Qualifications obtained through apprenticeship or equivalent training in electrical installation.
  • City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, 2351, or 2330 levels 2 and 3, or an approved equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification.
  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).
  • City and Guilds 2391 for inspection and testing, and 2382 for BS7671 18th Edition certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
