About the Role

Simpson Judge Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Conveyancing lawyer to join our New-Build Conveyancing department in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of new-build property transactions from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage your own caseload, monitoring and delivering against personal targets
  • Independently establish priorities and manage deadlines
  • Proactively and efficiently manage the transaction, while managing client expectations
  • Responsible for files from opening through to completion, ensuring all files are maintained in good order in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements
  • Provide clients with legal advice relevant to their cases, recording the advice and representing the best interests of the client in the transaction
  • Taking instructions from clients and drafting the necessary legal documents and contracts for each case
  • Proactively deal with other side solicitors, mortgage lenders, brokers, clients, and local authorities
  • Deal with complex enquiries, researching previous cases and relevant laws to provide accurate advice
  • Recognise potential risks and resolve issues without putting the client or business at risk
  • Comply at all times with the Solicitors Regulation Authorities Rules
  • Ensure all files are billed correctly with the appropriate fees and on completion, funds are sent to the correct place
  • Provide supervision, support, and coaching to Paralegals
  • Optimise the client experience through the use of our conveyancing systems and technology
  • Provide an exceptional service both to the client and to introducers and third parties
  • Develop a culture of teamwork and high performance with a strong focus on customer care
Requirements
  • At least 3+ years' experience managing a new-build property portfolio of cases from inception to completion
  • Experience in all varieties and levels of title complexity essential
  • Thorough understanding of various property laws
  • Commercial awareness, keeping up to date with business and industry news
  • Resilience with the ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and an analytical approach to come to the best legal solutions
  • Attention to detail, extremely accurate in research and in the drafting of documents
  • Enthusiasm for delivering a high level of customer service
  • Enthusiastic team player and a natural self-starter able to work on their own initiative
  • Ability to be flexible and empathetic to deliver client needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Commercially aware with a strong focus on client service
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a new environment, existing procedures, and processes
  • Experience with ProClaim and Redbrick Case management system is desirable
  • Experience with investor purchases and portfolio mortgages, particularly where the lender is separately represented
