About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at EDF. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning of our Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems at our HPC site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our systems engineers to support the commissioning of equipment and systems.
  • Commission equipment or oversee the surveillance of commissioning activities performed by suppliers.
  • Manage instrumentation, including pumps, valves, tank levels, transmitters, and complex equipment such as nuclear instrumentation.
  • Handle controllers, which run field processes through hard-wired signals to instrumentation.
  • Oversee Level 2 systems, including servers and workstations connected to controllers via plant buses.
  • Focus on Level 3, which involves data collection and interfacing from Level 2 systems to data historians and remote access to field systems.
Requirements
  • A degree or HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Extensive experience in the corresponding engineering field and/or commissioning experience is required.
  • Proven ability to adapt successfully to new environments and large industries, ideally within the nuclear sector.
  • Strong understanding of the need for technical and administrative rigour in the nuclear industry.
  • Ability to focus and deliver results both independently and as part of a team, with the capacity to multitask across different I&C systems.
