Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Aseptic Services Technician to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in the production of injectable medicines and support the coordination of day-to-day activities in our aseptic unit.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Pharmacy Aseptic Services Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and supervising the preparation of sterile medicinal products made aseptically for patients and external customers
  • Training and assessing technical staff to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Carrying out aseptic preparation of sterile medicinal products, including cytotoxic chemotherapy
  • Dispensing and checking of dispensed prescriptions and requisitions in the dispensary
About Us

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Our trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with appropriate underpinning knowledge (or equivalent) plus knowledge and equivalent experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment to degree level
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Leeds University APDM course or willingness to attend
