About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reliability Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using advanced tools and techniques to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance the operational environment and implement best practices across multiple sites.
A Day in the Life

As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks, as well as responding to breakdowns and implementing solutions to get equipment back up and running as soon as possible.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, undertaking day-to-day maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing, and liaising with contractors when necessary. You will also work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, ensuring everyone's safety, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency.

There are many opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon. We focus on reducing downtime in Amazon's critical operations sites, so customers receive their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements
  • Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ).
  • Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, preferably in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  • Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.
