Role Overview

Shap Blue Quarry, located in the beautiful Eden Valley near the village of Shap, offers a unique blend of rugged natural beauty and practical convenience. Surrounded by stunning fells and close to the Lake District National Park, the quarry provides a tranquil work environment in a picturesque rural setting. Despite its peaceful location, the quarry is well-connected, with the M6 motorway nearby, offering easy access to Penrith and Carlisle. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain quarry machinery and equipment to ensure efficient extraction and processing of materials.
  • Ensure quality control of materials and adherence to safety protocols to maintain a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Load materials, manage supplies, and maintain cleanliness of the site to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Act as a responsible person on site in the manager's absence to ensure continuity of operations.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction materials industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach to tackle challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to work effectively with colleagues.
