Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide onsite BAU support for our network infrastructure in Dumfries and Galloway.

The successful candidate will have strong Cisco expertise and a proven track record of managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide BAU support for network infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
  • Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Support and optimize LAN, WAN, VLAN, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
  • Monitor network performance using advanced tools and respond promptly to issues.
Requirements
  • Proven experience with Cisco networking technologies, specifically routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless.
  • Strong knowledge of LANs, WANs, VLANs, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Familiarity with network security principles and experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting complex network issues.
