Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the MHE maintenance department, ensuring high-performance equipment and efficient maintenance processes.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting Aldi values and behaviors.
  • Implement and monitor risk assessments, safe systems of work, and H&S standards.
  • Manage the maintenance calendar, prioritizing repairs and minimizing disruption.
  • Support audits, challenge current maintenance strategies, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver performance KPIs, including safety compliance, spares management, cost control, and maintenance turnaround.
  • Manage legislative requirements, such as LOLER Certification, and control engineering staff and non-staff spend.
  • Identify obsolescence risk, manage total asset lifecycle, and maintain documentation.
  • Support onsite training, provide technical training to frontline colleagues, and complete 1-1s and PRs.
  • Manage staff rota, allocate resources, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure operational expectations and daily ordering fulfillment are met.
  • Advise on site safety, condition, and performance, and manage Aldi expectations and relationships.
  • Identify talent and recommend individuals for development and succession planning.
Requirements
  • Experience in MHE maintenance, warehouse operations, and leading a maintenance department.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Organized, team management, and computer literacy.
  • Confident communicator, detail-focused, and excellent time management.

  • Starting salary £44,880 rising to £48,130.
  • 5-day week, 40 or 45 hour contracts available.
