Job Title: 1:1 LAC Tutor

Salary: £25 - £30 per hour

Job Summary:

This role involves providing educational support to children who are looked after. The successful candidate will work closely with the school to provide tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions, ensuring the unique educational needs of each child are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 Maths, English, Science and SEMH Support to Looked After Children (LAC) or Children that are Looked After (CLA)
  • Create and deliver engaging, personalized lesson plans that align with each child's individual education plan (IEP)
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment to help students achieve their full potential

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent tutoring/teaching experience
  • Proven experience working with children, particularly those in care or with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by Looked After Children and the ability to address these effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and a genuine desire to support and inspire children in care

Safeguarding:

The successful candidate will be required to satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
