Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our clinical procurement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the procurement of goods and services across the hospital, ensuring that we achieve the best value for money and high service levels.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of commercial issues and purchasing techniques, including the rules and policies governing public sector procurement. They will also have experience of managing and coordinating large and complex projects, analyzing and evaluating data, and making recommendations on the best value options for procurement and supply.

Main Duties
  • Lead the procurement of goods and services across the hospital, ensuring that we achieve the best value for money and high service levels.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that meet the needs of the hospital and its patients.
  • Manage and coordinate large and complex projects, including the procurement of goods and services.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to inform procurement decisions and make recommendations on the best value options.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the hospital and across the South West London Acute Provider Collaborative to review current practice and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in procurement, preferably in the NHS or healthcare sector.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing and coordinating large and complex projects.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data and make recommendations on the best value options.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
