Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of food items as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene practices throughout the food preparation and service process.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP standards in the kitchen and all food and beverage outlets.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment functionality and report maintenance issues to the Head Chef.
  • Support the training and development of junior kitchen staff and supervise kitchen operations.
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring quality and administrative functions are met.
  • Manage food provision to various outlets, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
  • Address guest queries promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure food products are of high quality and stored appropriately.
  • Contribute to menu development by incorporating guest feedback.
  • Ensure consistent high-quality food production across all hotel outlets.
  • Manage customer relations in the absence of the Head Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Ensure effective management of kitchen resources to meet business needs.
  • Support brand standards through training and assessment of the kitchen team.
  • Effectively manage the kitchen brigade to maintain a well-organized and motivated team.
  • Control costs while maintaining standards to improve gross profit margins and meet departmental financial targets.
  • Assist other departments as needed and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety and food safety legislation.
  • Report any maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues, while being environmentally conscious.
