The Midlothian Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher of Economics and Commerce to join our team. As a key member of our education department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to the development of our curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Economics and Commerce to students at various levels, including GCSE and A-Level
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum changes, ensuring alignment with national standards
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies, procedures, and initiatives
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge and expertise in Economics and Commerce
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment

Working Conditions
