About the Role

The NHS England Insights and Intelligence Team is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join their team in the South West Region. As an Analytical Support Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering data, automation, and visualisation expertise to support the region and Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) with their analytical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all regular reporting, including data cleansing and quality assurance
  • Develop ad hoc reporting solutions using analytical tools and techniques
  • Design and implement software and dashboard solutions to automate reporting processes
  • Integrate data feeds from disparate sources and manage datasets
  • Respond to incoming requests for information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Develop business intelligence reports and present findings to stakeholders
  • Plan, design, manage, execute, and report tests using appropriate tools and techniques
Requirements
  • Level 2 qualification in English/Maths (GCSE or equivalent) or successful resit of functional skills exam
  • Previous experience in a data analytics role or ability to demonstrate ability to utilise data at a basic level
  • Good understanding of analytical tools and highly numerate
  • Basic statistical knowledge and experience of generating reports from raw data
  • High degree of computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and relational databases
  • Ability to manage, clean, abstract, and aggregate data
  • Knowledge and application of quality assurance processes to data and analysis
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of using coding tools, languages, and/or analytical software (Stata/SAS/SQL/R/Python, SPSS, VBA, or equivalent)
  • Technical skills in data management, business intelligence, and/or analytics, including data modelling, data visualisation, and data blending
