HLTA Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated HLTA to join our team at Barnet Council. As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Support the teacher in planning, preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring that all pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
- Assist with the assessment and recording of pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and other staff members as required.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, providing individual support and guidance as needed.
Planning and Preparation
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities, using your expertise to develop engaging and challenging lessons.
- Prepare the classroom for lessons, setting up equipment and resources as required.
- Use allocated time to devise clearly structured activities that interest and motivate learners.
Working with Staff, Parents and Carers
- Communicate effectively with other staff members, pupils and parents/carers, providing feedback on pupil progress and attainment as directed by teachers.
- Contribute to meetings with parents and carers, providing information on pupil progress and any concerns that may have been raised.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to ensure that all pupils receive the support they need to succeed.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting the teaching and learning process. You will have a strong understanding of the curriculum and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff and parents/carers. You will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, using your initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges.
