Job Description:

We are seeking a Psychology Support Assistant to work with children with additional needs in schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. As a Psychology Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to children with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, and physical disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children with additional needs in a classroom setting
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Assist children with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene
  • Support children with behavioral challenges and develop strategies to promote positive behavior
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for children

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
