About the Role:

Astute People is collaborating with a prominent operator in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Project Engineer for their significant facilities.


This Energy from Waste facility is designed to handle a substantial volume of waste, converting it into energy for the local community.


As a Project Engineer, you will take the lead on all enhancements related to plant and equipment, overseeing the entire process from initial concept to successful implementation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the conception, execution, and delivery of projects focused on upgrading plant processes and equipment.
  • Conduct risk assessments, prepare tender specifications, and generate progress reports for ongoing projects.
  • Oversee, monitor, and assess third-party contractors working on-site.
  • Assist the broader Engineering team in planning and executing maintenance outages across multiple waste processing lines and associated energy generation systems.
  • Coordinate and manage all mandatory inspections for lifting and pressure systems, including steam boilers and auxiliary equipment.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum ONC/HNC qualification in a relevant engineering field.
  • Project Management certification (APMP/Prince 2).
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).


The Ideal Candidate:

The Project Engineer position is well-suited for individuals with:

  • Experience in high-pressure steam systems within environments such as power generation, refineries, or utility plants.
  • Familiarity with statutory inspections and pressure systems, including non-destructive testing.
  • A proven track record in project management, particularly with respect to CDM regulations.


Compensation and Benefits:
