Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Analyst to join our team at the Virginia State Police. As an Employment Analyst, you will play a critical role in career progressing and promoting our current sworn employees, preparing for, proctoring, grading, and finalizing the yearly sworn promotional test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement career progression programs to promote sworn employees
  • Prepare and administer promotional testing, including verifying test materials and filing completed instruments
  • Work with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to obtain serial numbers for promotional testing
  • Develop and maintain promotional testing timelines and schedules
  • Prepare and disseminate promotional announcements and correspondence
  • Administer the Career Progression Program and prepare certificates
  • Provide backup support and cross-train with other Employment Unit members
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, employment recruitment and selection procedures, and human resources automated systems
  • Ability to create and format employment announcements, review incoming employment forms, and provide training
  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate and solve problems related to human resources issues, collect and analyze data, and make decisions
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent and experience in using personal computers and related software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) policies and procedures related to employment
  • Experience working with third-party testing providers and Oracle eBusiness Suite (OEBS)
