Join Our Team as a Measurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Measurement Specialist to join our team at BMW Group. As a key member of our Metrology team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex geometric root cause analysis for body/trim/single part issues
  • Measure and verify geometry using various coordinate measurement devices
  • Develop and implement containment and permanent actions to resolve issues
  • Maintain and calibrate measurement facilities to ensure compliance
  • Monitor and recommend facility upgrades and measurement method transformations to align with group strategy and market developments
  • Generate measurement reports and present results to stakeholders
  • Solve geometric production and launch issues using tools like CAD, measurement data, and Pruefcube analysis
  • Measure BIW/trim/single parts as requested and provide feedback and results to stakeholders
  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving geometry problems on series level cars, providing short-term containments and steering robust longer-term solutions with Engineering departments
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one of the following requirements or equivalent must be met:
  • HND or Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship
  • Professionally qualified (either associate or full member) of an Institute
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a measurement environment
  • Engineering background
  • Working knowledge of CATIA and ability to manipulate models
  • A minimum of two years in an analysis environment
  • A minimum of two years working in a low to medium volume manufacturing environment
  • Proven detailed report writing
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings
  • Some knowledge of PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, VPS large & 6 Sigma
  • Tolerance management
