Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom Storyteq Full time

About the Company

At Storyteq, our Digital Engineering division is dedicated to crafting top-tier, enterprise-level digital solutions for renowned brands. We emphasize the importance of mature Agile practices and leverage the latest technological advancements. Our team structure fosters an environment where every member can acquire new skills, engage in diverse projects, and witness the impact of their contributions in the digital marketplace.

About You

You possess a strong enthusiasm for technology, coupled with commercial experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. You understand the importance of deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks. As a detail-oriented individual, you bring fresh ideas and collaborate effectively within a dynamic development environment to achieve outstanding outcomes.

The Role

Storyteq is seeking a proficient Solutions Architect to contribute to the development of a variety of web-based products and tools. This position focuses on creating websites powered by the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) CMS.

The Solutions Architect will serve as an internal consultant for Adobe AEM, providing guidance to teams and clients on optimizing customer-facing digital platforms and experiences. This role involves offering technical advice and consultancy on best practices for implementing a range of projects, from simple brochure sites to more complex initiatives.

As a Solutions Architect, candidates should not only support software development but also demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the entire Software Development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, planning, project estimation, and software design.

Many projects will require the integration of multiple systems and APIs into a unified website, making experience with microservices essential. This may involve eCommerce services, digital asset management, or product database integrations.

We adopt Agile (SCRUM) methodologies for software development, and candidates should have experience working in such environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to business analysts by participating in client meetings and assisting in solution design during discovery and ongoing projects.
  • Analyze and propose technical solutions based on business requirements.
  • Gather both technical and non-functional requirements and assess their impact on solutions.
  • Design technical architecture.
  • Create high-level designs for client review.
  • Develop technical documentation to guide development teams.
  • Assist project managers and scrum masters in generating high-level estimates.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure estimates are realistic and align with project specifications and timelines.
  • Work with project management and business analysts on roadmap planning.
  • Engage closely with development teams during design and implementation phases, providing support for complex solution implementations.
  • Act as a liaison between development and third-party infrastructure teams to analyze, optimize, and assist with high-level issue triage on the platform.
  • Ensure technical governance and conduct code reviews.
  • Candidates must have commercial experience with HTML/JavaScript or Java, along with strong logical and problem-solving skills across the full software development lifecycle.

This role emphasizes collaboration to address technical challenges. Therefore, exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with experience in producing technical documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation in developing web applications, preferably with AEM or similar CMS platforms. Proficiency in Java, Spring, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript is also desirable.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays to ensure you have ample time to recharge.
  • An Annual Wellbeing Day to prioritize your physical and mental health.
  • A Pension Scheme to help you save for your future.
  • A Corporate Medical Cash Plan to reimburse medical treatment costs.
  • Access to numerous discounts and deals through our online community platform.
  • An Employee Assistance Programme focused on your wellbeing.
  • A Cycle to Work Scheme to support your commuting needs.
  • Monthly Employee Awards with a £250 bonus for outstanding contributions.
  • Opportunities to participate in charitable activities, including a paid Volunteer Day.
  • A Referral Scheme that rewards you for bringing in new talent.
  • A Wellbeing Programme with interactive workshops and support from Wellbeing Champions.
  • Enhanced Family Friendly Leave to assist you in balancing work and family life.

Commitment to Diversity

We are dedicated to fostering a diverse workforce and ensuring all applicants receive equitable treatment, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality. We strive to enhance the visibility and recognition of underrepresented talent within our organization and the broader industry.

At Storyteq, we prioritize the wellbeing of our employees and the community, as we believe that we are stronger together.
