Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement SHEQ Policies and Procedures
Develop and implement SHEQ policies and procedures that align with legal requirements, industry standards, and company goals. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Conduct Risk Assessments and Safety TrainingConduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure that appropriate safety controls are in place. Lead safety training programs for all employees and subcontractors to ensure a high level of awareness and competence in H&S, Environmental, and Quality practices.
Emergency Response Planning and InvestigationDevelop and maintain emergency response plans for the office and factory, including fire evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and communication strategies. Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Safety Performance Monitoring and ReportingMonitor and report on safety performance indicators, including near misses, accidents, and lost time incidents (LTIs). Provide timely feedback and recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
Integrated Management System (IMS) OversightOversee the management of the integrated management system (IMS) and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 or relevant standards. Develop and maintain quality control processes for the factory and specific projects.
Team Leadership and CollaborationLead and mentor the team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development in relation to all 3 standards and best practice in the business. Collaborate with senior management and other departments to integrate SHEQ initiatives and suggested improvements into overall business strategy and operations.
Site Inspections and AuditsConduct regular inspections and audits of sites to assess compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Provide timely feedback and recommendations for corrective actions as necessary.
Quality Control and AssuranceWork with clients and project teams to create project-specific quality control processes, conducting quality audits, and ensuring that the company meets quality standards. Assist in the production of operational site documentation, such as H&S files, RAMS, and CPP.
Requirements- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Equivalent
A NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent is essential for this role. Experience of working in a CDM environment is also required.
Full UK Driving LicenceA full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
IOSH or IIRSM MembershipMembership of IOSH or IIRSM is essential for this role, with a minimum of TechIOSH membership.
IT Literacy and Microsoft Office SkillsIT literacy and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Sharepoint are essential for this role.
Strong Communication and Negotiation SkillsExcellent communication and negotiation skills are required for this role, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels.
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced EnvironmentThe ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously is essential for this role.
