Job Overview

Lanxess UK is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Widnes. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products meets the highest standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality control methods for new processes and products.
  • Maintain and repair laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and control process parameters to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct analysis of effluents, borehole, and cooling tower samples to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot quality-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, including incident reporting.
  • Assess and minimize potential hazards within operational boundaries.
  • Conduct risk and COSHH assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide raw materials analysis, assessment, and documentation.
  • Document and report non-conforming product/blend failures and turnovers/extensions.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a background in the chemical industry or related process industries, preferably with a relevant apprenticeship or degree. You should have a keen sense of smell and be confident handling chemicals and equipment.

You will have knowledge of GC, GCMS, and HPLC operation, including equipment maintenance and wet chemistry techniques. Good communication skills are essential for working closely with personnel across various departments and levels of seniority.
