About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Architect to join our team at Damia Group. As a Snowflake Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data engineering solutions using Snowflake, AWS, and other modern technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Hydration Process: Design a data hydration process for Teradata/Hadoop to Data Lake (S3) and to Snowflake migration using AWS Services, Glue, DBT, and Snowflake.
  • Business Case Development: Create business cases for wider implementation, including business benefits, ROI, features comparison, and cost comparison of on-premises and cloud solutions.
  • Architecture Simplification: Simplify current architecture by reducing data redundancy, removing silos in data, metadata, and technology, and adopting data product and data mesh architecture.
  • Data Modeling: Design and develop logical and physical data models in Snowflake.
  • ETL Code Conversion: Design a framework for Teradata BTEQ and ETL code conversion to DBT and Snowflake SQL.
  • Metadata Management: Design an Enterprise Metadata Hub for registering metadata from Alation, Glue Catalog, DBT, and Snowflake.
  • Data Product Pipelines: Design Data Product Pipelines for functional, cross-domain, and business data products in Snowflake.
  • Semantic Layer: Design a semantic layer in Snowflake and Starburst for analytics and reporting use cases.
  • Orchestration Pipelines: Design orchestration pipelines using GitHub, Step Function, and Airflow.

Requirements:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in AWS, Snowflake, and DBT.
  • Data Modeling and ETL: Strong knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.
  • Metadata Management: Experience with metadata management tools (Alation, Glue Catalog).
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Teradata BTEQ scripts.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and Airflow.
