About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our fostering team, you will be responsible for the recruitment, training, assessment, support, and supervision of foster carers, ensuring high-quality placements for looked-after children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and assess foster carers to ensure they meet the necessary standards and requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, including regular visits, phone calls, and email updates.
  • Work closely with foster carers, children, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with foster carers, children, and other stakeholders to promote a positive and supportive environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of fostering policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with a current HCPC registration.
  • Recent experience in fostering and services for children, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent assessment skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with foster carers, children, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
