Marine Insurance Litigation Specialist

About the Role
Jameson Legal is seeking a mid-level Associate to join its specialist Marine casualty team in London. The team assists multi-national shipping clients, including shipowners, charterers, and protection & indemnity (P&I) clubs, and their insurers and reinsurers in relation to their global exposure to claims for hull and machinery, increased value, loss of hire, cargo, mortgagee's interest, war, charterers' liability, ports and terminals, and general liability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and conduct of Marine insurance litigation cases;
- Conduct research and analysis on complex Marine insurance disputes;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders;
- Contribute to the development of the team's expertise in Marine insurance litigation;
- Stay up-to-date with changes in Marine insurance law and regulations.
Requirements
- Strong academics and intellectual rigour;
- Trained at a rated City or regional firm with a good reputation for Marine insurance disputes work;
- 2-4 years' post-qualification experience in Marine insurance litigation;
- Ability to adopt a proactive approach and take initiative;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Proven ability to manage a busy, complex case load.
