About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Allocator to join our team at Selfridges. As an Allocator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our stores have the right stock at the right time to maximize sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize stock availability and stockturn through effective use of auto replenishment and allocation strategies.
  • Optimize stockturn by identifying slow-selling products and recommending actions to improve inventory management.
  • Action the transfer of stock between stores and distribution centers, ensuring timely delivery and meeting return-to-vendor deadlines.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of departmental performance, concession sales, best-selling products, competitor activity, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to input markdowns and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Work closely with the distribution center to resolve queries, highlight unresolved issues, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Chase suppliers for timely delivery of orders within allocated windows and assist with booking in at the distribution center as needed.
  • Monitor supplier fulfillment rates and report any poor performance to the merchandising team.
  • Provide regular analysis and insights to inform buying and merchandising decisions, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain expertise in relevant systems, including Retek, Excel, and Essbase, and participate in training programs as required.
