We are seeking a skilled and experienced Community Vaccinator to join our expanding immunisation team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering the School Aged Immunisation Programme in Primary, Secondary, and Independent Schools, as well as other community venues.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delivering vaccinations to school-aged children in a variety of settings, including schools and community venues.
- Working collaboratively with schools, parents, and other healthcare professionals to promote immunisation uptake and address any concerns or barriers to vaccination.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the immunisation programme.
- Providing education and training to schools and other stakeholders on immunisation policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of immunisation policies and procedures, in line with national and local guidelines.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A registered clinician qualification, such as a nurse or midwife.
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a school or community-based environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and other healthcare professionals.
- A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of national and local immunisation policies and procedures, including those related to school health nursing and immunisations for school-aged children.
