Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice General Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, supporting the production of in-house productions and projects, as well as working alongside the executive team in planning the logistics of future programming.Key Responsibilities

Production and Creative Projects

  • Manage the producing function at Tara Theatre, ensuring seamless execution of productions and projects
  • Support the Artistic Director in assembling creative teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stage management, creative teams, and casts throughout the production process, attending shows regularly to ensure high-quality delivery

HR, Management, and Administration

  • Oversee staff recruitment, induction, development, and training, ensuring a skilled and motivated team
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring best practice and effective communication across the organisation
  • Provide administrative support for funding applications, coordinating cast and creative team participation in donor engagement events as needed

Operations

  • Line manage the Front of House and Bar Manager, providing guidance and support for their development and training
  • Ensure policy compliance and implementation in consultation with the Technical Manager, covering premises licensing, access policy, health & safety, risk assessment, environment policy, first-aid, and fire marshal training, as well as evacuation procedures
  • Collaborate with the Technical Manager and FOH and Bar Manager in the general management of the building, including maintenance and renewal of building maintenance and office supplier contracts

Other Responsibilities

  • Advocate for Tara Theatre's mission to drive change within the theatre industry, promoting diversity and equitable access to cultural provision, creative opportunities, and careers
  • Adhere to and contribute to all Tara Theatre policies, including Equality, Environmental, and Health & Safety
  • Perform other duties as reasonably required to support the team
