This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with various professionals, including the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the Head of Occupational Health, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared values. This position is part-time, requiring a commitment of hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, expertise in service enhancement, and proficiency in delivering psychological therapies. The role involves overseeing the psychological therapy aspect of our services, ensuring adherence to governance and quality standards, and providing clinical leadership to fellow practitioners. Responsibilities include offering individual therapy, conducting assessments, and facilitating team-level interventions. Additionally, there will be opportunities to design and conduct training sessions and workshops throughout the organization.

As a member of the Psychological Services department, you will be part of a growing health psychology team that values professional development and support. We actively promote supervision, continuing professional development, and research initiatives. Our department is committed to diversifying clinical placements and providing robust supervision from seasoned Clinical Psychologists or Counsellors.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments for clients referred to the service, utilizing various data sources, including interviews and psychometric tools.
  • Developing and implementing psychological interventions based on evidence-based practices.
  • Providing specialized psychological advice and consultation to leaders and professionals within the organization.
  • Engaging in risk assessment and management for clients, offering guidance on psychological aspects of care.
  • Communicating assessment findings and treatment plans effectively to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Doctoral-level training in clinical psychology accredited by the relevant professional body.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in psychological assessment and treatment across various care settings.
  • Proven experience in providing supervision and training to clinical staff.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a multicultural framework and within an NHS Acute Trust.
  • Familiarity with research publication processes in psychology.
