Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Computer Science to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our Permanent Workforce Resource (PWR) team, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the Computer Science department, ensuring exceptional standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Leadership: Lead the Computer Science department, shaping and implementing the department's strategic vision and goals.
  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and implement a dynamic and rigorous Computer Science curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Teaching and Learning: Foster outstanding teaching and learning practices, ensuring the highest standards of education and student outcomes.
  • Staff Development: Mentor and support Computer Science teachers, providing professional development opportunities and conducting performance reviews.
  • Student Progress: Monitor student progress, set high expectations, and implement effective interventions to support student achievement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders to promote the Computer Science department and its initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for leading and delivering outstanding teaching in the Computer Science department.
  • Experience: Significant teaching experience within the Computer Science field, with a proven track record of success in raising student achievement.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of the Computer Science curriculum and the ability to develop and implement innovative teaching practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
