Job Title: Apprentice Finance Business Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Finance Business Partner to join our team at Screwfix. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business category plan, providing insightful management information, and conducting detailed category P&L analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality management information to support business decisions, including analysis of price, category ranges, SKU profitability, and cost challenges.
  • Conduct detailed category P&L analysis to support long-term development strategy, identifying opportunities and proposing solutions.
  • Provide framework and analysis as an input in the budget, reforecasting, and strategic planning process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Monitor sales, margin, and rate trends vs forecast, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations to mitigate or capitalize on them.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as required to ensure delivery of plans, including decision support on one-off events and influencing business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other finance analysts to share knowledge and best practices, ensuring consistency and accuracy in reporting.
Requirements:
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant with a strong understanding of commercial finance principles.
  • Highly numerate and commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong sense of ownership and flexibility, with the ability to adapt to new demands and priorities.
  • A desire to drive continuous improvement and challenge the status quo.
