About the Role

Imperial Brands PLC is a leading global FMCG company seeking a skilled Firmware Development Engineer to join its team in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop firmware for new product development projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in firmware/electronic engineering, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Work closely with partners and suppliers to access cutting-edge technologies and facilitate prototype production and scale-up to full production.
  • Manage prototype design, iterative development, and debug/testing activities to validate concepts, mitigate risk, and leverage team capabilities.
  • Develop strong relationships with multifunctional counterparts to deliver fit-for-purpose propositions and ensure technical requirements are clearly understood.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in medium to high-volume product development, with a strong understanding of firmware development across a wide range of microcontrollers.
  • Excellent knowledge of high-quality firmware development, with expertise in bare metal/RTOS firmware development in C using IDE development tools.
  • Proficient working with electronic schematics and competent in using debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and DVMs.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage projects, collaborate with internal and external partners, and participate in project meetings.
